During the year we have contests, rides, touring, campouts, rally visitations and other worth (eh?) causes. The unofficial riding group meets (currently) at the Fox andHound resturant in Moscow, Pa every Sunday at 8 AM and changes to 9 AM 

We support our overseas troops by donating new DVD’s to the overseas Medical Hospital in Germany. Where are troops go for medical work after a encounter and injury.

Hello and welcome to our news and updates, today being April news and information 

Going west,   John A,   John has recommited and was last seen heading toward Detroit and than west for the winter.

Meeting held  every month,  new Formatwas initiated where there was the management meeting, a member meeting, and than a social time. It seemed to go well,  there was praise floating around. So it would seem it was working

At the meeting,there were new members introduced from Carbondale, Laua and Dwight. Since their joining the club we have injoyed their company from The Cass Rally to the RA in Wisconson.

Also introduced were requests from the Rally Master(Joe B) for help, positions that were filled were, Security and Traffic, The Store, Marketing Assistant and others. This is for every Year

Hello and welcometo new stuff as it appears.Meeting for the club have been under discussionby the attending members.  For the writer, hearing second hand, it seems that there is a discussion as to the regular meeting have become rather boring and uninteresting. This means that changes should be  made as to the emails on our YAHOO GROUPS. Some changes suggest the revision of the meetings for a “leadership group or management group” amd that meeting should be about riding only. It seems as though the groups needs to rethink the plan and its path.

Being a “newbie” to the motorcycling worldafter purchasing my first BMW last November, I was very excited to travel to NYC for the Progressive International Motorcycle Show on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Jacob JavitsConvention Center. What would I see? What would I want to buy? How much money to bring? How anxious would it make me to ride when there was still snow on the ground and a lot of winter to go (as I’m constantly being reminded when I whine about it)? 

Ken Osiecki, boyfriend extraordinaire, had purchased tickets to travel on a chartered bus sponsored by Two Jacks in Wilkes Barre. Thanks, Ken!! Sunday morning, alarm goes off at 6:00am (no snooze??); we get ready, andarrive at Two Jacks by 7:30am. Arriving at Two Jacks well behind most everyone else (Sunday morning early birds!) and get the last two seats on one of two buses. (I know why those seats were empty; emergency exit means cramped legs!) But no biggie, it was a quick 2 ½ hours to the city and I managed to nap a little on the way. Everyone on the bus seemed very excited and energized!! Or perhaps it was the Krispy Kreme donuts we were given?  

We had our list of things to accomplish for the day. Well, Kenny had a list! I was pretty much along for the ride! His list included personal (need versus want?) items as well as researching some organizations on behalf of the Black Diamond Beemers (as you may know, he is the President of the Club). As soon as we disembark from the bus and take the necessary bathroom break, we get in line to enter the show. Being the methodical pair that we are, we started at one end of the vendor row and worked our way through, making mental notes about the stands we wanted to come back and visit. We didn’t want to rush any purchases and we also didn’t want to carry them all day long!  

It became pretty apparent to me that the show is definitely geared toward Harley Davidson ridersand passengers. Every othervendor, it seemed, was offering any kind of leather you could imagine! Now, I’m not suggesting that a BMW rider doesn’t wear leather, but these leatheritems were complete with the requisite skull and bones, or scantily clothed women! Then again, I am a newbie, so maybe my preconceived ideas are wrong! You all may prove me wrong when I head out riding this year! There were also many tricked out, custom bikes…the paint jobs on some of these bikes was simply some of the most creative artistic work I had ever seen!  

There were vendors with every known gadget you can imagine that were specifically for riding or working on motorcycles and then there were vendors that simply wanted to clean your glasses and sell you the greatest glass cleaner since sliced bread. There were vendors who were touting their geographical region to attract you to tour (and spend your money) there. Who knew that West Virginia had the most wonderful roads and state parks to visit? Okay, maybe you do know that, but I can’t say I have ever been to West Virginia. Worth it to check it out!  

Kenny and I finally made it through the vendor exhibit area. We had our “go back to” vendors we planned on visiting later. Time for a break! Two Jacks had packed a lunch for us, so before the sodas got too warm, we snacked on subs and chips and then it was time to visit the dealer area. WOW!! BMW was the first dealer that we visited (of course, you say, but actually it was the first one next to the vendor area) and it was impressive. We saw the newer versions of Ken’s bike, the F800GS, and mine, the F800ST, and they were beautiful and shiny under the bright spotlights! Then we wandered over to the newest offering by BMW, the K1600!! Okay, okay – it was a beauty! People were clamoring all over it. Love the automatic windshield that moves up and down! And the concept BMW Concept C scooter…well, that is VERY cool!  

We visited other dealer displays; Triumph (Love the 800 Tiger!),Can-Am (anyone for the crazy looking Spyder?), but then decided to move on to check out some of the seminars offered. The brochure mentioned a DIY area, the “HUB”, and a Women Ride section where there were various seminars held throughout the show. Umm….not impressed! We were disappointed in the presentations and decided to move back to the vendor area to make our purchases. We enjoyed some honey roasted nuts along the way and by the time we were done, it was 4:00pm! The bus to take us back home was leaving by 4:15pm, so time to head out. The trip home was quieter than the trip out, so I’m guessing that everyone was absorbing the overwhelming amount of information and sights at the show and dreaming about when they would be able to ride their own bikes again!!Is it spring yet??
